Saltash Place - Coming soon.
This is the heart of Poundbury, with a range of shops and restaurants and a popular meeting point, with attractive green spaces just a short walk away.
Saltash Place is positioned just by Queen Mother square at the central hub and very heart of Poundbury. Taking design inspirations from the cultural and picturesque cities of Venice and Munich, Poundbury prioritises people over cars with many of the roads here being car-free.
Inspired by His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales, and master planned by celebrated architect and urban planner Leon Krier, the community of Poundbury sits proudly on a hilltop on the western edge of the county town of Dorchester.
Poundbury has evolved into more than a picturesque town, it has become an attractive community where everyone from the leisurely retired to the young working professional come to live, work, shop and socialise. The town boasts an eclectic mix of small boutiques, a bustling farmer’s market, a convenient Waitrose and a host of intimate cafes all within a short distance. What also makes this quaint town unique is its variation of strong architectural styles which gives the feel of gated communities without the gates.
Wider afield, the Jurassic Coast and the market towns of Sherborne, Beaminster and Bridport are all within easy reach. Small Dorset villages, many with excellent pubs, National Trust houses, established footpaths, and ancient monuments means you will never be short of things to do.
