- have immediate relatives (parents, non-dependent children, siblings) who have lived in the area for at least 5 years and with whom you have regular contact
Other categories or relationships – such as foster relationships – and special circumstances, including giving or receiving medical support, may be considered as well.
Eligible applicants will also need to evidence a combined household income of less than £60,000 per year, with priority being given to those applicants whose combined household income is below £45,000.
The Discount to Open Market scheme works on the basis that when you want to sell the property, you must do so on the same terms. This means – regardless of any changes to the market value – you must sell with the same percentage discount you received and to someone who meets the criteria for affordable housing.
