According to HOA, Rightmove recorded its busiest ever day on Wednesday 27 May, surpassing six million visits for the first time, showing people are keen to get moving. There has also been an increase in the number of properties being listed again, meaning buyers have the pick of the bunch.

With Nationwide reporting that UK house prices fell by 1.7% throughout May and the lowest recorded interest rates, now might well be the best time for you to secure a bargain, especially if you’re not yet on the property ladder. Schemes like Shared Ownership, Shared Equity and Help to Buy could also make a new home a tempting prospect right now.

“Now is a great time to move into a new home” explains Jacqui Egan at ZeroC. “Even as lockdown is gradually eased, our habits have inevitably changed long term, with many of us working more regularly from home.

“In light of that, buyers are now looking for a space they can completely dictate; the office needs to be separated from the living area, so that a true, physical separation from work can be achieved each evening. Buyers are looking for outdoor space and even dining areas as people reprioritise mealtimes as family time.”
